I gained experience as a freelance journalist and marketing and PR manager in numerous institutions: including the PR department of the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg, the UN-affiliated European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research, as a freelance journalist for the Austrian Press Agency (APA) and as the Director of Development (PR and fundraising) at the American International School (AIS) in Vienna. In July 2007, I founded my own company as a freelance journalist and translator.
I was born in Basel, Switzerland and am a UK citizen. I graduated from the American International School in Vienna in the 70s and subsequently attained a diploma from the European Secretaries Academy (ESA). I went on to study at the University of Vienna. In 1982, I completed my doctoral studies in Mass Communication and Art History. In 1984, I completed the Advertising and Sales Certificate Program at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and attained the degree Academic Marketing & Sales Manager.
